Anode jacking frame cylinder using conditions
1. Cylinder uses the system pressure, the medium temperature should be consistent with the  specified value
2. The compressed air of driven anode busbar jacking frame cylinder must be clean, less water, use water filter in the pneumatic system circuit
3. To lubricate the interior of the cylinder, use an oil mist in the pneumatic system circuit
Cylinder installation used
The installation and using of cylinder
1. The cylinder should be checked before installing, whether the both ends of the rod nuts or connections are loose, remove the anti-rust oil and protective cap.
2. Cylinder piston rod can’t bear eccentric or lateral load, the load should consistent with the piston rod axis, use a movable V-joint or knuckle joint in the long stroke connection, ensure the cylinder mounting base has sufficient rigidity.
3. When cylinder is in the horizontal using, detect it with the three-point method, connect the piston rod with the load, when the piston rod are out off it, put a level gauge in the middle of the rod to observe the level, when the piston rod is in the middle position, put a level gauge near the front end of the cylinder. When the piston rod is in the retracted position, there should be no change. When installing the long stroke cylinder, cylinder barrel need to set the appropriate support.
4. Use the front and rear flange, tripod mounted cylinder, should be avoided to bear the bolt thrust or tension load.
5. When using a single-double-edged cylinder or intermediate swing cylinder, the top of the piston rod and mounting shaft should be in the same direction. The tail of a single ear or swivel axis should leave a suitable clearance between the mounting shaft.
6. After the installation of the cylinder, it should be used in the unloaded state and run 2-5 times, check whether the cylinder is normal.
7. Cylinder speed control. When the cylinder speed is required, the pneumatic system must be fitted with a throttle valve. In general, the horizontally installed cylinder’s speed is smooth.
8. Use adjustable buffer cylinder, open the buffer valve before the operation, and then increase the resistance, when adjusting the buffer valve, knob clockwise the resistance increases, knob counterclockwise the resistance decreases.
Cylinder maintenance
1. After the cylinder using normally, we must often check the water filters and oil mist work, refueling timely. No oil cylinder should add grease every 6 months.
2. Use the tail single, double ear or intermediate swing cylinder, should add grease to tailstock or pendulum shaft.
3. When using the cylinder it should be regularly checked, pay attention to whether the connection is loose, find the problems in time to prevent accidents
Cylinder repairment
Outside leakage
1. Leakage between piston rod and the front cover
Reason: the piston rod installed eccentric; lack of lubricating oil; between piston rod and seal has impurities; seal aging damage; piston rod with scars
Method: re-install the adjustment; check whether the oil mist is malfunctioning; clean, remove impurities; repair the seal; repair the piston rod
2. Leakage between aluminum smelting equipment cylinder and end cap
Cause: The connection thread is loose; the seal is damaged
Method: Re-tighten; replace the seal
3. Buffer throttle leakage
Cause: Seal aging damage
Method: Replace the seal
Inside leakage
Pistons’ air run at both ends
Reason: poor cylinder lubrication; sealing surface debris; seal aging damage
Method: Check whether the oil mist is malfunctioning; clean and remove impurities; replace the seal
Cylinder output is insufficient
Reason: serious internal and external leakage; load mechanism is not flexible; low working pressure; load capacity of large bore
Method: troubleshoot by internal and external leakage; re-adjust the installation; increase the working pressure; improper selection is not suitable
Piston rod damage
(1) surface pull marks
Cause: The piston rod is eccentric; there is a debris between the rod and the seal
Method: polish and repair by sandpaper; replace the piston rod
(2) bending fracture
Reason: eccentric load or lateral load; bear the impact load
Method: Eliminate the eccentric load and lateral load; set the buffer device
Buffer effect is not good
Cause: The cushion seal is not good; the needle stem is damaged; the cylinder is too fast
Method: replace the buffer ring; replace the needle stem; reduce the speed.
Cylinder strain
Reason: poor cylinder lubrication; cylinder with debris
Method: polish by sandpaper or replace the cylinder.
